Older children & adults are reporting significant pain post frenectomy

In adult patients with TT, do you find less pain in the post frenectomy rehabilitation phase when a period of pre habilitation is undertaken, in essence conditioning the musculature as much as possible?

Decreased Lingual Movement

He presents with decreased lingual movement but does not have an obvious anterior tongue tie. He is unable to stick out his tongue without it resting on his teeth and he cannot click his tongue without moving also moving his jaw. I am really at a loss for how to help him.

My interest is more concerning: I have a new diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea (hypopneas, actually), in which the MD believes that the base of tongue is falling into the airway (and per a recent laryngoscopy, my airway is small).
When I was a child, an orthodontist offered to clip it, but I wasn’t having any difficulty with speech, and I hadn’t really figured out that my childhood sleep disruption was apnea until all these decades later.
