I would be starting when I know I’ll be leaving these patients within 3-6 months. Do you think it’s fair to start?
Feeling compromised
As far as taking on a patient when you will be moving, I even mention that in my classes and here is what I say: “Because you know Phase One, most especially prof exam #1, you can build a decent foundation for a patient and then, even if they move or you move, they have the most important basic skills. You’ve made it possible for even a non orofacial myology therapist to make progress with that solid foundation you’ve built.” If you were using an old fashioned or simplistic program, perhaps you’d be best advised not to start what you can’t finish, but with our focus on maximizing muscle function, we’re fine.
