Can I train my employees the techniques we’ve learned in your Orofacial Myology: from Basics to Habituation course?

Q:  Can I train my employees the techniques we’ve learned in your Orofacial Myology: from Basics to Habituation course?  

A:  No, but you can show them how to screen the patients. Then they can send them to you for full evaluation and examination.  They can also learn to whom they should refer patients for barriers they note that will interfere with successful orofacial myology treatment.  Barriers include airway limitations such as inability to nose breathe, enlarged tonsils/adenoids, ankyloglossia.  Screening is not the same as performing an orofacial myology oral examination or evaluation.  The latter must be done by the DDS or RDH or SLP with the actual intensive course training.
