Good morning, We are looking for an experienced Orofacial Myologist in our area to help our eight year old with thumb sucking and are hoping you will help us with this. We have looked online but have not been successful in finding anyone even within our area code (909). We live in the city of Upland, CA. Other cities that would also work are Alta Loma, Rancho Cucamonga, Claremont, Montclair, and even La Verne or Ontario if there is not an Orofacial Myologist in the first four cities. Thank you in advance.
Hi, we have been working long and hard to train professionals to become QOM, Qualified Orofacial Myologists. Please see the following link to our website to find the highly trained people in your area who have taken our course work. https://orofacialmyology.com/orofacial-myology-therapists-2/ If there is no one nearby, you have another options. I am not trying to promote Unplugging The Thumb in this email but I want to say that I had to create it because of many letters like yours from concerned parents. Also, my course graduates wanted a “user friendly” program that already contained all the necessary components needed. If you want to try Unplugging the Thumb (UTT), Parent Edition, it can be ordered online or if you wish to contact me personally via this email or phone, please feel free to do so. Rachel is the perfect age to be successful in quitting, but it is very important to follow the program closely, whether you find a certified orofacial myologist or use UTT yourself. There is a little room where you can be creative, but I present parents with the sequence and components that I used for over 35 years in my own offices and clinics. You should not deviate too much as some of the smallest suggestions/instructions are the most important for the successful outcome. Please keep in touch and let me know how I can help you further. Sandra
