March is the Orofacial Myofunctional Disorders (OMD) Awareness Month with the purpose of educating the public on the long-term consequences of habitual open mouth posture, bad oral habits, atypical chewing and swallowing patterns, and how these issues can be treated by orofacial myologists. During the many years that Neo-Health Services has existed, it has become a unique training organization of hundreds of professionals from countries all over the world. Neo-Health “grads” are speech language pathologists, dentists, orthodontists, dental hygienists and other health related professionals. Our family of graduates are found in private practice and in scientific institutions, patient groups, universities, teaching hospitals and schools. OMD Awareness Month offers professionals and parents a means to focus national and international attention on our common interests in a way that our individual activities so seldom can.
