Q: Thank you for your wonderful Unplugging the Thumb kit. We started the program with our six-year old daughter. It is working perfectly. Now, we need to start it with our 4 year-old son. We are concerned because he just saw the videos and we think that it can be a little problem since we are not going to have the surprise element… what do you think?
A: First of all, congratulations on following the program so well and for helping your daughter with Unplugging the Thumb! Remember that in the Parent Guide, I caution you to be sure to work with only one child at a time. It is okay that your son saw the video, so don’t worry about that for now. I suggest you continue to focus on your daughter, continuing to guide her through completion of UTT. Once she is through with the ten days, place Sockie in the selected location where it can be seen with pride. This accomplishes two things: It fulfills the requirement as directed in the Parent Guide, and at the same time, it provides encouragement and a goal for your son. Then start fresh with your son, providing the “breathing space” as prescribed in UTT parent guide. Because you already have purchased one UTT kit, you can call us directly and I will arrange to send you the needed individual components. We look forward to hearing from you… Thank you so much for sharing and keep us posted about the results!
