Ankyloglossia and palatal expansion, when to do it

I was recently referred a case where there is an obvious need for a frenectomy, she is 9 and is getting an expander TOMORROW. I need to decide to recommend she get the surgery now and take my chances with the rehab when I basically can't do much more than mobility work while we wait 4-6 months for the expander to be removed, or wait for the frenum surgery after the expander comes off.

The short answer to your question is that there are no current data to suggest that MFT should play a role in the rehabilitation of stroke victims. The larger issue involved is the training of those who work with stroke victims. This is not an appropriate area of clinical endeavor for a dental hygienist.

10 year old son who sucks his thumb

I have a 10 year old son who sucks his thumb and I have no idea how to get him to stop. I have talked to him about quitting and absolutely disagrees with me.

Hello Sandra, I am writing to let you know how happy I am with the results of my UNPLUGGING the THUMB which I purchased from you about a month ago. If you remember, I am the mum from Australia. My five year old daughter, A, has successfully “unplugged her thumb” and I am amazed at the changes

I am a parent of a 3 year old. My child had a rough start, she was born early and was hospitalized for about 5 months with major complications including malignant sleep apnea, difficulty feeding, PDA ligation, IVH III (no shunt at this time), and a cerebellar stroke.
