Hi
I’m getting many myo clients since I took your course three months ago! Oh my goodness… Today I had my first thumb sucking patient that called about her girl’s 3 yr old thumb sucking habit. She’s coming to see me on Monday .
I’m going to recommend the unplugging the thumb package. I bought it from you thank God.
What is a fair price to sell it to her for?
Other than my notes from your class .. Are there videos I would be able to watch like the one you showed us in class to refresh my memory on how to use it effectively?
The mom has tried everything including the T- guard.. An appliance that goes over the thumb.
Thanks so very much. I so much appreciate your guidance.
I want to provide the best care for them.
Thank you!!!!!
Hi,
I am delighted that you are getting many myo clients!!!
Remember that UTT (Unplugging the Thumb) was created for 4 years through 10 years of age. Remember in class I said I had three little girls who were a little younger than four but the situations were very exceptional and generally it is a bad idea to begin with 3 year old little ones. Did you buy the UTT Parent Edition or Therapist Edition? Did you plan to sell it to the mother and have her do it on her own? You would not sell a parent the kit under normal circumstances if you are available to work with a child; you would charge for your services instead and you provide the program and direct the parent what to do. We do not have permission to share the class video of the child so you would have to review the therapist guide until you are comfortable with the information and don’t forget that our private Facebook Group has many other professionals from all over the world who took our class and stand ready to help and share with you as needed.
In this case, the child is too young. With an older child: When the parent has tried other things, a long time should pass before attempting to reach the child again and offer a new program. Once they have “failed” at other methods, you do not want to introduce UTT or they will also fail with that and anything else. It has to be presented when nothing else has been going on in the child’s life for a while. I hope this helps.
