Are there smaller mouth props available? The mouth props we used in class seem too bulky for my 4 and 5 year olds. Also – I’m working to pass prof 1 with a few of my patients. A lot still need support – like the mouth props or using a coffee stirrer for horizontal movement. Do you send home practice for this?
Hi , When you took the course, it was several years ago, before we had the choice of two different mouth props, depending upon the client’s needs. If you are using the 3Way Mouth Props, you might have to try level #1 for younger children, placed inside the cheek area, just resting between the lateral teeth, and it is a small opening. Anything smaller would not permit the necessary tongue movements. For the past several years, we have had the 2Way Mouth Props as well. They are available either separately or in the Mouth Prop Combo package. In the back of the Myo Manual Edition 2 (you might have the first edition which did not have the details about the myo tools used in the program of treatment), there are all the pros and cons of each of the Mouth Props and suggestions for whom each might work better. If you don’t have Edition Two, I will make the info available to you as a past student; just let me know. My best, Sandra
