Hello, I am thinking about taking your training course on orofacial myology later this year. My question is this: I am a dentist, newly graduated from dental school. I have set up my new office and would like your opinion about the possible benefits for me and my patients if I attend your 28 hour course. My wife is a speech pathologist and she said she has heard about it and also has interest in learning more. We thank you if you can enlighten us about it.
A: Hi, your questions are superb! I don’t know if you’re considering teaming up with your wife, even part time, but it is a dynamic combination to have an SLP and DDS working together. You are both eligible to take our approved course and to pursue your QOM, Qualification in Orofacial Myology. Our training will afford you several benefits:
- It is an additional division you can put into your clinic/office that provides extra income.
- You will be able to find and diagnose etiologies that you otherwise might have missed with your clients.
- You will not have to refer your patients elsewhere to try to find someone qualified to work with their orofacial myology concerns.
- You will become part of an international group of NHS grads who are helpful, sharp individuals who reach out to one another and discuss difficult cases, new research and much more.
Please do feel free to contact me by phone or personally by email and I will be happy to go into more detail for you and your wife as well.
