Hi,                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Actually, most people have commented that they are surprised at how inexpensive it is when compared with the bitter stuff and plastic devices, etc. advertised on the internet.  This kit was developed with a different approach in mind.  This is the approach used by orofacial myologists, of which I am one, and the program has not been available to parents or others in this user friendly kit prior to this one, Unplugging the Thumb.  I have taught this method to speech pathologists, dentists and dental hygienists at my presentations and courses, but parents cannot always find a specialist in their area since there are not so many of us who are trained and certified.  The cost for this type of program when the therapist provides it usually runs between $350 and $550 on the average.  Because it is quite difficult to find a trained orofacial myologist in many areas, parents suggested I put it into a workable success kit for them.  I then took the better part of 2 years to develop it piece by piece, trying to use the right wording in the parent guide so that parents would have almost as good a chance of success as we therapists get…..as long as the parent follows the parent guide’s recommendations.  There are speech pathologists and dental hygienists who have purchased Unplugging the Thumb and are using it in their own practices.  Although it would cost you considerably more,  you should certainly consider seeking one out if you have someone qualified nearby.
