What is an embedded frenum attachment?

Q:    What is an embedded frenum attachment? Is the anterior part the attachment to the tongue?

 

A:     Embedded is a term we use in our training to point out that there are instances where the frenum appears to enter the tongue in one location, but if you observe closely you see that the frenum tightly follows just under the tissue up further, even around the tip, still causing a limitation in movement.
