Hi, I’m a speech pathologist with a 5 and a half year old son who sucks his thumb. I never learned how to approach this problem in school unfortunately. I tried a lot of different ideas I heard about but nothing has been effective. I wonder if I started when he was too young. I

Hello Sandra, I have a question regarding treatment. I am working with 14 year old twin boys and have almost completed phase I. In our initial assessment they had a normal bolus collection and swallow. Do I still work through phase 2? The issues that they had were open mouth posture and some mouth breathing.

This Monday I will see a 25 year-old with a repaired bilateral cleft lip and palate who has hypernasal speech. She has very clear myo issues as well just by looking at her smile and face: (crowded teeth, open mouth posture, etc). I thought that I would treat her case like any other myo case
